ºoºMemo To The Top Brassºoº

This is in response to your previous memo asking for new ideas for street entertainment. I have done a visitor survey and most people want something to watch while waiting for the parades to start.

Therefore, my idea is to have special performers appear along the parade route in the Magic Kingdom about 1/2 hour before the parades. Imagine watching a mime usher visitors to a seat, pointing to a light pole for them to sit and watch the parade. Watching the mime ‘shadow’ people walking along the street. Laughing as the mime ‘plays like a statue’ in the middle of the street, suddenly moving and scaring a passerby. The mimes could ‘rearrange’ people already sitting on the curbs. They could stop and start staring at the sky until they have several other people doing it too, then just shrug and walk away, watching to see how long it takes for the others to leave too. This entertainment allows for a lot of visitor interaction. There are many different things that they could do that would help alleviate the long wait for the parade.

Anyone who has seen the preshow at Clyde and Seamore’s SeaWorld show will know what I mean. The moves would be adapted for the parade route. I think the mimes should be in classic costume with Mickey Mouse ears, of course. This position is open to any CM who wants to interact with the Disney visitors.

This is a hilarious but inexpensive way to keep the crowds laughing. Tempers get short while waiting and this is a great way to keep things happy.
