I am so excited about the upcoming attraction, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, which has been announced for Disney’s Hollywood Studios as the replacement for The Great Movie Ride. (Rest in peace.) I think it’s going to be a spectacular experience that will really blow us all away, once we get to step on board, sometime in the spring of 2020. (A new, updated date, as the attraction was supposed to open in the fall of this year at Walt Disney World.)
Well, now, those in California will get to feel the same exhilaration that I feel about this upcoming attraction, as it was announced today that Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will be coming to Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland!
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will take Guests into the world of the Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts that are currently airing on the Disney Channel. During the attraction, Guests will board a train with Goofy as the engineer, where you’ll then be whisked away on a zany, out-of-control adventure filled with surprising twists and turns.
The attraction itself will use state-of-the-art technologies and visual effects to transform the cartoon world into a multi-dimensional experience that feature a unique 2 ½-D experience with no 3D glasses required. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will also feature a new catchy theme song that was created especially for the attraction.
Guests will have to wait a while for the attraction at Disneyland though, as it won’t open until sometime in 2022.
