Halloween Time Scares Up Fun at the Disneyland Resort

Fall at Disneyland Resort is a fantastic experience, as the Halloween Time seasonal celebration returns for 2023. This year’s festivities kick off on September 1 and runs through October 31. During Halloween Time, Guests will be able to experience family-friendly fun throughout the resort.

New this year, will be the debut of ghostly new outfits for Mickey Mouse and some of his pals. Spirited seasonal décor will appear in both theme parks and there will be countless photo opportunities – including the Main Street Pumpkin Festival at Disneyland Park and the transformation of Cars Land at Disney California Adventure into Radiator Screams.

At Disneyland Park, “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas” will once again wreck the halls of Haunted Mansion Holiday. It’s a unique holiday overlay that is sure to summon favorite spirits, but also characters from the film.

Each night through October 31, the “Halloween Screams” nighttime spectacular will summon supernatural projections, special effects and music on Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, Rivers of America and in front of “it’s a small world.” For those who have MagicBand+ you’ll want to keep an eye out for illuminations and vibrations. On select nights, fireworks will even take place. To make way for “Halloween Screams,” “Wondrous Journeys” will have its last performance on August 31.

At Disney California Adventure, three attractions will undergo seasonal transformations with Halloween overlays. Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree in Cars Land and Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters will become Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree and Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween. For the first time, Guido will sport a ghoulish “car-stume” as he welcomes guests to the Casa Della Tires.

Then, each evening, Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! in Avengers Campus will transform into Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark. This is a scream-worthy adventure to save Groot from creatures running amok in The Collector’s Fortress.

In the evening, Guests will be able to experience the Oogie Boogie Bash. This Halloween party will take place from September 5 through October 31, 2023. on 25 select evenings. It allows Guests to see rare characters, trick-or-treat, ride attractions with a shorter wait time, dress in costume, enjoy themed food and beverages, and more.

Finally, at the Downtown Disney District, from September 8 through November 1, Disney character-themed pumpkins will be hidden for Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit. Guests can purchase a map from participating locations and Guests can earn a collectible keepsake. Downtown Disney District will also feature fall décor, entertainment and special offerings.
