If you’ve been at the Downtown Disney District in Disneyland Resort lately, you’ve noticed that there’s definitely an evolution taking place. The transformation work started back in 2018 and its goal was to introduce more innovative shopping, dining and entertainment experiences. Disney is working to make this area include a diverse number of offerings for Guests.
Here are some of the newer things that are on their way in the near future.
What’s New
First, it appears that the whole area will see a massive refresh. As you can see from the concept art that’s been released.

The world-renowned restaurant Din Tai Fung will offer Guests soup dumplings hand crafted right on site! This family-run restaurant will bring flavorful Chinese cuisine. Guests can enjoy dishes served family style in a creative space off of a new lawn pavilion.

Another new addition will be Michelin-starred chef Carlos Gaytan who will bring his vision of Mexican cuisine to Paseo and Centrico. These restaurants will replace Catal & Uva Bar. The restaurant and central courtyard dining area will offer Guests a multi-sensory journey of delights.

Seeing changes will be Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen. This restaurant will evolve into a place that incorporates vibrant California energy and a fresh approach to the menu. Don’t worry, it will still offer dishes with New Orleans flair.

Finally, fan favorite Earl of Sandwich will also pop into the district in a special sandwich walk-up location. Earl of Sandwich will offer Guests the classics they know and love for a limited time beginning later this year. (Hopefully they will open up with a full blown restaurant again in the future.)
