Tracey's Homemade Autograph Book

Look how smart I am!! I couldn't find any autograph books anywhere here in Calgary so I made mini scrapbook/journal/autograph books myself for our kids to use on our upcoming WDW trip.

Here's what I did:

Materials:

  • 6" X 8 " scrapbook - (I bought mine from Michaels, It's called a Memory Book and made by Paper Reflections)
  • Greeting Card with your child's favorite Disney Character on it (or other source of Disney pictures)
  • Letter Stickers to coordinate
  • Modge Podge
  • Paint Brush
  • Waxed Paper

Method:
Cut out the character on the greeting card and arrange it on the cover of the scrap book. You may want to mount it with a coordinating border of card stock to create a nice effect. Peel off letter stickers and spell out "Walt Disney World 2002" and arrange it so it looks nice on the page with the Character

Put a piece of waxed paper between the cover and the first page of the scrapbook to protect the pages and the table you are working on. Paint Modge Podge on the back of the Character and place it onto the cover. Make sure you get rid of any air bubbles. Wait for it to dry. When completely dry paint modge podge over the entire cover. Let dry. Paint one last coat of modge podge and let dry completely.

***tip: Do not go over and over the card and cover with the paintbrush many times. Just paint a thin coat quickly and wait to dry between coats. Otherwise the paper gets saturated and comes apart.

Hope this inspires you!

Editor's Note: It did indeed inspire some of our MFL members. Check out these great homemade autograph books made by Elise Mazzara. spacer
