We were on the Mears bus going from the airport to our resort. People on the bus seemed tired and the
children were a little antsy. Then we drove into Walt Disney World. "Hey, we're in Disney World,"
someone shouted. Suddenly, the tension drained from the bus. Everyone was smiling and applauding. The
children spontaneously burst into song. It really was as if we had entered into a different world. --

My son has been a Disney fanatic all of his life. He probably owns about a hundred Disney videos
(including animated shorts and The Mickey Mouse Club videos). So the fulfillment of his dream was to meet
the characters in person. When we went to the character breakfasts, he was overcome with happiness,
especially when he met Mickey. "How are you, old pal?" he asked. Then he actually gave Mickey our phone
number and asked Mickey to call us! Next time we go, we will prioritize meeting characters. --

We were waiting in line at Mickey Mouse's house in Toon Town to meet Mickey. It was pouring rain and we
were exhausted from standing so long. When we were finally able to see Mickey, there still was a line.
Then I heard a very happy sound. I looked to see a young man in a wheelchair. He appeared to have
Cerebral Palsy. He was smiling broadly and making ecstatic sounds. Mickey was standing next to him. The
woman with him said, "This has made his trip. It is the high point for him." Mickey spent a little extra
time with this young man, but that was ok. Suddenly, we weren't all that tired anymore. -- The Hendricks Family
DD was about 6 and we were staying at the Beach Club. We had Poly room service the evening before and she'd had cold shrimp. There may have been a problem because exactly 24 hours later she was violently ill. I'm talking a stream of "violently ill" across our luggage, down the hall, into the bathroom - eww! Anyway, in the process, we had to call Housekeeping (at 1 a.m.) and they cheerfully gathered up our sheets, etc. and were gone. With the sheets they took her beloved "banky" which was basically a long, stringy rag. We called and called the next few days - it never turned up.
About 2 months later she received a package in the mail. Inside was a Daisy
Duck with the following message: "We are sorry we coudn't find your banky.
We hope Daisy will bring you some magic of her own. Sincerely, Disney's
Beach Club".
This is why we keep going back...... -- Tammy S.
One of the things my children love to do every year at Disney is buy an autograph book and a special Disney pen and gather as many character autographs as they can during our vacation.
This past spring, we were at MK and were in the building in Toon Town to see
the characters and take pictures and gather autographs. I forget the name
of the building...they have 3 separate rooms with different characters in
each. Anyway, we were out in the store part of the building when my 6 year
old realized she'd misplaced her autograph book and pen. She was, of
course, distraught as she'd gathered autographs from many characters. We
asked one of the CMs working at the store if she'd seen the book lying
around, and she proceeded to help us look for it. We searched the store for
at least 20 minutes with no luck. Emma was in tears as the CM came over and
took her by the hand to the rack of autograph books and pens. She had her
pick out any book and pen she wanted (no charge) and quickly summoned a
young male CM to take the book into the back (all unbeknownst to Emma) and
have each of the characters autograph it for her. Emma was so happy to have
her autographs again, and we were impressed, as we always are, with the
magic of WDW.
This is why we go back year after year, and will continue to go back. No
matter what, WDW is still my favorite place on earth. -- BethD
