"My funniest Disney moment was when I was 5. It was a beautiful day, all of a sudden it started POURING rain! I mean it was like a monsoon, well we tried to wait it out, but my dad and grandfather finally decided that it
was time to go, so as we were looking for our car in the lot, my dad forgot where we parked it, and it was raining so hard you couldn't see anything anyway, so to keep my brother and I dry my grandma made us lie under a
van! Well after they finally found the car, they couldn't find my grandma, brother and I because we were lying on the ground, under a van! We laugh
about it to this day. Also my dad must have washed his shoes because I still remember when it was raining they started to bubble. -- My favorite
moment was the first time my WHOLE family went down for Easter, there were close to 40 of us, and it was impossible to get reservation anywhere for
that many for Easter dinner, we finally ate at "Bonfamilles" that was in Port Orleans. I guess that's why I'll miss that restaurant so much!" -- Colleen
"My almost 7 year old son, Tim. Space Mt. Late night E night, so fewer crowds. He is wearing his GUEST OF HONOR badge. We ride the first time, Tim does
OK. 2nd time, Tim is loving it. Ride the third time, and Tim asked to sit in front. The CM was chatting with him about our vacation. We went into
the ride, and on the first hill, in the pitch black, the ride stops cold. We hear a voice saying CAPTAIN TIM FROM PENNSYLVANIA, PLEASE GIVE US A
THUMBS UP TO PROCEED! Tim was speechless, then screamed HEY THAT IS ME! I said GIVE HIM A THUMBS UP, and he did! Rest of the trip, he was Captain
Tim to us!"-- Barb
My favorite disney moment happened in January 1993. I'd only been in Florida
for six months, and I was turning 40. with no family in the area and no
close friends yet, a big party was not in the cards. So I opted to spend
the weekend at the Poly and go to Ariel's for dinner. My now ex made the
ressie at my behest and mentioned that it was a special birthday. The CM
assured him that there would be some kind of special surprise. well, the
meal was very nice but - nothing special happened! I was very disappointed,
and ex-hub mentioned it to the CM when he paid the bill. The CM was very
apologetic, but it didn't make me feel any better. But when we got back
to the hotel, there was a HUGE basket in the room with wine and cheese
and lots of sweets, with a card with best wishes for my special day! I
have never forgotten and have even used this as an example when I teach
customer service classes at my company. -- Mary Ellen
I had totally forgotten about this and my little one who is only 3 years old
reminded me this week-end. When we went to WDW in February 2000, we were
lucky enough to get a table outside at the Rose and Crown for dinner so
we could watch illumination, about 15 minutes before the firework, a waitress
came and asked Emilie (my older one, she was nearly 5 then) if she could
help them start illumination that night, well a few minutes before 9 they
came and got her, gave her a wand and had everyone do the countdown for
illumination while she was waving her wand, and then she Started the fireworks.........
To this day both kids really believe that Emilie started the show, and
she had a magical moment certificate to prove it :-) This is wy I love
Disney so much, you never know what wonderful event will take place next.

Magic is truly in the eyes of the beholder. Several years ago my son Chris, his
girlfriend Jen and I started a rather bizarre tradition: The Disney Magic
Orange. It started off innocently enough. We had supper at Chef Mickey's
and then went to an E ticket night. My son had taken an orange from the
buffet to eat at the park. As the night wore on and we wore out, the orange
was still with us. Thus began a tradition... where to leave the orange.
Our first placement was in the hand of the large adult size figure near
the entrance to the Wedway. Ironically the figure's hand was palm side
up. Almost like he was begging to hold something. The orange fit there
like a glove. Our second placement was last year. Another meal before an
E Ticket night. This time at the Crystal Palace. About half way through
the meal I began to think about the orange but chose to say nothing to
the kids. After we left I suddenly noticed my son happily tossing a medium
size orange up and down. It was then I realized that this was the birth
of a tradition. The rest of the night was spent looking for the perfect
spot. At last, just as we were leaving, we found it. At the beginning of
the area where The TimeKeeper and AE is located, is some sort of futuristic
designed thing. Not the best description but the best I can do. In it are
many round indentations. Yes, orange size indentations. With as much stealth
as we could muster in our fatigued state, the orange was placed facing
the castle. Ah to be a fly on the wall when the cleaning crew discovers
our foolishness. But, as I said, Magic is in the eyes of the behold! --
