Magical Moments

On our first trip to Disney we stayed in the Caribbean Beach Resort. We were having a wonderful time, but by the third day our daughter became very sick, high fever etc. Well, we went to the walk in clinic, got antibiotics and it was obvious she would be in bed all of the next day. My older daughter and husband went off to the parks, but my younger sick daughter was VERY sad, that mom made her stay home (she was 5). Later that day the Maid called to see if we wanted maid service, and I explained to her about my sick daughter and that she was so sick she couldn't go to the parks and she was in bed all day. She asked if she had a sibling and how old she was. I was perplexed! An hour later we got a knock on the door, and here was delivered "From Mickey", two beautiful large Disney stuffed animals for the sick little girl and her sister. My daughter was thrilled and hugged it in bed the rest of the night, and so was my older daughter when she got home that evening. They both believed it was from Mickey himself! How wonderful that the C.B. Resort staff would do this! It was so special!.....Lynne H.

I love to tell about my favorite Disney magic moment. We took our children and my parents to WDW for our daughter's 4th birthday. She loved Cinderella and was looking forward to her birthday dinner in the castle. We checked into our room at the Grand Floridian as soon as we arrived. My husband checked out the balcony and discovered a full view of Cinderella's castle. He called Lauren and me to come look, lifted her up and showed her the castle. She reached over to me and, hugging both of us, said "Thank you Mommy and Daddy for bringing me here. This is just what I needed!" -- Karen Christiansen

On the Jungle Cruise, our son (almost 5 at the time) was the kid asked to pilot the boat, since the guide was "too scared". He's been on his grandpa's boat enough that he figured he knew what to do - and he spent the rest of the ride carefully steering us along the river. He still brings up "being captain of a ship" as the best part of his winter vacation! -- David Bingham, Ottawa Canada

My favorite memory of our trip to Disney MGM Studios last year was when my 27 year old best friend, finally was so immersed in Disney Magic that she took off running towards Tigger and gave him a really huge bear huge and told him that she loved him. She had all the genuine love of a child flowing from her in that moment and I will always feel that was the most special moment of our trip. It's really cool to become a kid again.

Now, the coolest thing that happened was when we did the animation tour. We stopped to speak with the cast member that did the drawing part of the presentation on the tour. We asked for her autograph and got something even more precious. She sketched a quick Mickey Mouse and signed it for us! We left the tour and headed for the nearest frame shop and quickly framed our favorite souvenir from our trip.

You just never know when that Disney Magic is going to find you. 8-) -- BraveNCrazy8899

I just have to share this with all of you because it tells you where the mind of a 7 year old is and what is important to her.

Last Sunday we found out about ABC's Walt story 20 minutes into the program (it wasn't listed in the TV Guide). My youngest daughter curled up on my lap and watched it. At the end, of course, Michael Eisner came on and then the tribute about the tragedy. After it was over my child put her hand over her eyes and I could see her shoulders shaking. I said, "Are you crying?" She nodded and started crying harder and sobbed, "It's just so sad!!!!"

Well, my heart just broke for her and I tried to comfort her as best I could. I said, "It will be all right. America will survive this." She shook her head no and cried, "No, it's not that!" Puzzled I looked down at the top of her head. Suddenly the light bulb went off inside my own head and I gently said, "Are you crying because Walt died?" Her head nodded up and down and I hugged her as she angrily exclaimed, "It's not fair! He shouldn't have died! He had too much to do and live for!" She had heard him talking about the future so excitedly that it stood out to her. I explained that it happened a long time ago. That wasn't good enough.

"He should still be alive!"

"Hunter, he'd be 100 years old in December!" -- Bonnie
