My Magical Moments were at the Town Hall Expo in the Magic Kingdom. I've had two great character interactions.
My first magical character moment occurred November, 1996. Back then, the camera center inside Town Hall Expo had kiosks
for sending video email. (No longer there, sadly.) Who should approach my friend and me? Cruella De Vil! She gave us great
Attitude, and wanted to be in our video email. (Unfortunately, Disney won't allow it, and blocked it before it sent.)
The three of us divas posed in the classic, "Stop In the Name of Love" pose. We were the Disney version of "The Supremes". :)
The other magical character moment was also in Town Hall Expo, but it was during the Millennium Celebration. Catherine's
Magical Moments pin wasn't working, so she picked up a replacement. We went to the kiosks that had games that "tested" the lights on
the pins, and who should show up but Robin Hood and Friar Tuck. Amazingly, nobody else was vying for their attention, so they
spent time with us. Friar Tuck and Catherine were playing with the pin kiosk, and I interacted with Robin Hood. When Catherine was done,
she took a photo of Robin Hood kissing my hand. :) -- Lori Wagner
My magical moment happened for me after we arrived home.
We spent a week in early June at WDW with our three kids. Jon is 6, Charlie is 5 and Rachel is a year and a half. Charlie has autism and does not speak much at all.
We had a busy week at the World and rode some rides, but we were not sure how Charlie was doing, because he does not talk much at all. Sometimes he repeats what we say, for example, if I say, "Say Bye Bye Charlie." He will say, "Say Bye Bye Charlie". This is called echolalia.
Anyway, after we got home, the second morning he took me to the car and said "Wanna go ride zoom zoom cars at Walt Disney World Momma!" !!!!! An Eleven word sentence!! And all out of his own head. Amazing!
Talk about magic! By the way, the zoom zoom cars are the indy cars at the magic kingdom. We rode those 4 times. I can't wait until next June to take him back. -- Jan Bowser
We were in the MK a few weeks ago watching SpectroMagic. My oldest daughter (8) always need to
know how everything works--those are actors in the stunt show, that is special effects, how Pan's ships
fly, that sort of thing. I thought she was getting too old for the kid sort of things. While watching
the parade, the fairies from Sleeping Beauty went by on a float. Flora waves at my daughter, who was
standing next to me. She turned to me with wonder in her eyes and said, "Mommy, she waved right at me. She
knows me!" All of the magic of being a kid can right back. That is why we go there. -- Carol Garcia
One night at MGM a thunderstorm came through. We; dh, ds, & dd (17), & a friend & myself; were waiting for the bus back to AKR. The family next to us
had a girl about 6 who was terrified. As she cried I tried to talk to her as a distraction. My dd, who says she hates kids unless it's for breakfast when
they're delicious, began talking to the girl & showing her her pins. This trip was the first for my 2 to get into the pin trading. Well, by the time
the bus came the girl was smiling & had a gargoyle pin (it was her favorite cartoon) & a picture of her with my daughter. This year my daughter, now 20,
is applying for an intership for the spring so she can share her love of Disney. That night is one of my favorite memories because my teen made
someone else a Magical Moment & that's what I love best about Disney- we're all alittle nicer with pixie dust. -- Barb
My Dad worked for a newspaper when DW opened and could get press passes to Disney. We went the first operating year in April and
continued to go every year after that for Christmas for the next 7 years. My Dad took a picture of my Mom, brother and myself that
first trip in front of the castle in '72. In 2000, my Mom retired and I left for a return trip with my Dad, oldest nephew, Mom, and myself.
We took the same picture with my nephew substited for his Dad. This was my first return trip with my parents since 1979. I cried as we
pulled onto the grounds of the World. I have many wonderful memories of going with my parents over the years and am now late in life am
blessed with a son who is now 3. We will make our first trip with him in 2007. I cannot wait and know the emotions will make me cry again. -- Cindy
On our 1999 WDW trip, it was the first time that my Mom, Dad, sister, brother-in-law, husband and I were all together. We had a great time, and I commend my brother-in-law
for seeing my crazy family in full Disney mania and not bailing out on my sister immediately afterwards. :-) Anyway, while in the Germany pavilion, we were trying to get
as many pictures with as many different combinations of people in it as possible. A very nice CM passed by and said, "Why don't I get a picture of all of you together?" She took a
great shot of all 6 of us, which is now the wallpaper on my Mom's computer. It was very nice of her and really made our vacation! - Kristina Valcarce
On our 2002 DL trip, my parents, my husband and I were having breakfast at the PCH Grill in the Paradise Pier Hotel. Minnie Mouse was making the rounds and came up to our
table just as my parents were once again asking when they were getting a grandchild. (In fact, they're getting one from me in November.) I looked up at Minnie and said, "Well,
Minnie doesn't have kids!" She shook her head vigourously and pointed at her ring finger. "Oh," I said, "Still waiting for Mickey to pop the question, huh?" She nodded and looked
down at the floor. "Well, we're going to CA today, so if we see him, we'll talk to him about it, okay?" She gave me a huge hug. :-) - Kristina Valcarce
