Magical Moments

My DD 8 lost her autograph book, near Townhall in the big store, when I went to purchase the photo they had just taking with Mickey Mouse. We realized it a few minutes after leaving the store, so I went back and asked a CM after looking around where they had been playing by the Mr. Potato Head station, and it was no where to be found (to see if someone had turned it in). She said she would check and came out and told us that no, no one had turned it in. At that point she handed my DD a brand new one, and asked what autographs she had, she did not have many, I remember it was Mickey Mouse and I believe Pluto. She went and got Mickey's signature again and Pluto's and brought us the book back signed. Than she said to my DD that Pluto was still out by Minnie's if she would like to say hello again. She took us through the exit right to the backyard where he was, after he finished with the children he was posing with, she stopped the line and my DD was able to go straight to Pluto who wrote an extra note in her book, and posed for a photo with her. She went from being very sad, to very, very happy. I was in so much shock, that I forgot to get the CMs name, so I could send a thank you. -- Judy Yeddo

In Animal Kingdom, we were lined up to see Pooh, when Tigger and Eyore also showed up, so you would see one character and move on to the next. When my DD went up to Pooh, he took her bunny and pretended to feed it honey and than cleaned its mouth and gave it back to my DD. She was standing there in shock. I caught it on tape with my Digital camera which also takes small clips, but I turned the camera, so when you watch it on TV you have to turn your head. My DD still talks about this til today and is insistent that Hopitty (her bunny), can not wait to go back to Disney in August, to see her friend Pooh. Everytime we go shopping she tries to sneak honey in the shopping cart (which I brought once for her and she hated it), because Hopitty wants more honey. -- Judy Yeddo

Our magical moment happened a few years back. We were taking my nephew on his first trip to WDW. My 11 year old nephew Kyle, sister and I were in line for the Haunted Mansion--the line was very long, about a 45 minute wait, but it seemed the line was barely moving. My nephew was wearing a camouflage shirt that read YOU CAN'T SEE ME. We noticed a cast member (his name was Or-vile) lurking about. Or-vile finally walked up to us and asked my nephew how many bodies were in his party, then told the three of us to follow him. He took us through a door near the ride exit, then took us through a hallway so we could enter the stretching room. We thanked him profusely because he allowed us to bypass the LONG line in the hot Florida sun. My nephew asked him why he selected us out of all those hundreds of people waiting in line. Or-vile's deadpan response was "Because I CAN see you!!!", referring to Kyle's shirt.

I've been to WDW more times than I can count and though I have always had a wonderful time, have never been singled out by a cast member for any special treatment. I was thrilled to death that on my nephew's first visit to WDW he was able to experience a Disney "magical moment" given to us by a cast member. Or-vile set the tone for a wonderful vacation for us and I thank him! -- Judy E.

We went to Disney 2 yrs ago when DD was 5. The first night we always eat at Chef Mickey's. We were done eating and were shopping in the shops at the Contemporary. DD wanted a "Twinkerbell" costume. Of course grandma bought her one and she quickly changed in the bathroom...complete with wings, slippers and wand. We were on the boat dock at the contemporary waiting for the boat to our hotel when all of a sudden behind her was Peter Pan! Her eyes were as big as saucers! Someone had told "Peter" that Tinkerbell was down at the dock and he came down to see her!!! We took lots of pics and DD was at a loss for words! It was amazing and awesome!!! And on the first night too! -- Terri

On our kid's first trip to WDW and AK we were getting set for a last minute seat to see Festival of the Lion King. Just as the CM beckoned us in our 4 year old announced he needed to go to the potty. I was kind of bummed but thought ok we can get the next show. The CM asked us to follow her. I thought she was taking us to the bathroom, but we went to the side entrance where she took our names and told us to be back in 40 minutes. She had arranged for us to get special seating for the next show and we were right at the front of the Elephant section! The kids were in awe, I was so happy and hubby was scared that he was going to get called out to participate!! It really got our vacation off to a great start! -- Lil

On an October trip to Epcot a rain storm had gone through during the afternoon. After the rain had slowed to a drizzle we decided to walk around. Right over top of Spaceship Earth was double rainbow. DS #2 announces that Disney thinks of everything--they even know where to place rainbows. -- Debbie in IN
