Magical Moments

A couple of years before that, I was at Dixie Landings. I had a little pair of plastic Mickey Mouse earrings, and lost one in the vicinity of where we put the little 'fridge. I mean - I moved everything within range, and just couldn't find the little thing. I finally just had to go, so I left a note for the mousekeeper ( she was truly a magic maid, too - her name was "Gladys" - did things with our stuff right out of "Poltergeist"! ) to please be careful when she vacuumed, and keep an eye out for the little earring. When we returned that afternoon, in addition to the *cooolest* stuff she'd done, she left a little note, to the effect, "I'm so sorry, I wasn't able to find your earring - will these do? Love, MINNIE MOUSE!" ( Actually, all credit due, I don't *know* that Gladys wrote that at *all* ...... : ) Next to the note was a little earring box - and inside were two *really* nice gold Mickey Mouse earrings. ( Thanks, Minnie : ) -- Sophie

Last time we were in The World, I left a great big black and white Mickey beach bag ( you know the kind ) hanging on the back of the bathroom door. How could I forget such a thing? I always double check the drawers, the bed, la la la ... In any case, there wasn't anything important in it, because I'd transferred my stuff to yet *another* gynormouse Mousepurse - so I didn't notice it missing right away.

Well, pretty soon came a letter in the mailbox - with that magical logo! It said, in effect, "Are you the poor little Mouseketeer who left her purse at the Poly? If so, let us know it was you, and we'll send it right along". I checked, and sure 'nuff, I had - so I wrote back, "Yes, I'm the butterbrain in question", and in a few days there was a package in the mail ... a whole package with the magical logo!

Inside was my big ol' beach bag - and inside it were four leis which had been wrapped in, around and through a handtowel, somehow forming swan, a Mickey beanie ( he had on a little Hawaiian shirt : ), and the whole thing had been sprinkled with Mickeyfetti. I love those Disney folks : ) -- Sophie

My parents had a rather unusual experience...there was a hot dog cart near the entrance of Toontown and my parents were walking out of Toontown, having just gotten off the train. As they passed the cart my mom decided she was hungry and a hot dog would really fill the bill so my father walked up to the guy and asked, "Are these hot dogs for sale?" (I don't know why he put it like that, but then why would he tape a baby into her diaper?) Anyway, the vendor told him "Nope, I'm giving them away" and proceeded to give my parents 2 hot dogs for FREE! -- Samantha P.

July 2002 was mine and my husbands 4th trip to wdw, and was our 9yr old grandsons 1st trip. after months of planning we get to disney (drove two days from michigan to get there). 1st day go to mgm and grandson is not feeling well. We take him to the local clinic and have to wait 4 hours to see the doctor, another family that had just flown in from california that morning walked in after us with a son that was not feeling well & was tired and fussy. Our grandson felt sorry for the younger boy and told the receptionist to let that boy take his spot (we were next) and he would wait. when we get called back to see the doctor (grandson had an upper respritory infection) the nurse and doctor told our grandson how great they thought it was for him to let the younger boy go first. And the doctor told our grandson well you did a good deed and what goes around comes around.

Next day we waited till the afternoon when grandson was feeling better to go to the magic kingdom. we had a p.s. for dinner at liberty tree tavern. arrived early and was told to wait in the waiting room, after about a five minute wait a very nice cm walked up to us and asked would we like to be the family who rings the dinner bell? Grandsons eyes lit up and he said YES, he kept saying he couldn't believe we had been the ones that were picked. we were taken into the dining room to wait for all the characters & had a group picture taken , and then went up the stairs to the balcony. goofy rang the bell and we read the opening announcement with the cm. Then we were taken to our table and everyone else was showed to their tables for dinner. This was the first time our Grandson had seen any characters, he was so excited. We recieved a magical moments certificate, and mickey caffetti. This was a true magical moment that none of us will forget. Before we left grandson said " the doctor said I did a good deed and what goes around comes around " --- Shirley

My parents & I took my niece to WDW for the first time when she was 4. We were lucky enough to have breakfast at Cinderella's table and it was all she could talk about the day before. When we got there it was just like the commercial with the little boy meeting Mickey Mouse - not a word. She just stared at each Princess with her mouth agape. She maybe shook her head or uttered a grunt or two but she was literally speechless. They were of course, incredibly sweet to her (I'm sure she wasn't the first awe-struck little princess). --- Donna

Back in 1999 my husband bought me a lovely "MICKEY MOUSE" watch.  Just before another trip to WDW, in 2003, I lost one of the diamonds to my watch, and the battery had just stopped ( that was a long battery life for any watch 1999-2003).  Every jewellers shop that I took the watch to, told me that they were unable to touch the watch because it was a DISNEY timepiece (and they were unable to get the back off).

I then took it to my local Disney Store in Luton Bedfordshire U.K. They told me that they would send it off to WDW for repair... Well, I was going there myself in 3 weeks time anyway. I'll take it with me when I go.

I went to the jewellers shop in Main Street, the female cast member behind the counter asked me when I bought the watch (1999) I had no Guarantee with me or anything. The cast member then went away and came back to me with "A BRAND NEW BOXED WATCH" exactly the same as mine... I was left speechless and really surprised... I thanked her so much.

We carried on walking down toward the castle, but my emotions got the better of me and I ended up in complete tears...  sobbing like a baby.

"You see this is why DISNEY is DISNEY (sob sob), Oh! I'm so glad to be home (sob sob)"   (I call Disney my second home).

My husband had been taking video at the time and caught my emotional outbreak on camera, for us all to watch when we got home.

We watch it every month, our whole trip it makes us so happy. Also puts us in the mood to book our next holiday to the most magical place on earth... WALT DISNEY WORLD --- Annette
