Give Kids The World Meet
December 11, 2006
Hosted by Beccy Hosoda

Once again we toured Give Kids The World Village during MouseFest. This meet is looked forward to every year. In fact, Beccy ends up taking members on GKTW Village tours several times during the year! This place is wonderful and you really can't imagine it's power without seeing it for yourself.

Our group photo. From left to right: Britnee, Barb H., Beccy, Tammy N., ?, Binnie, Barb B, Brenna, Michelle. Center: Michael and Adler. Not pictured, Carol V. (she was taking the photo!).

Getting ready to start our "tour".

We were invited to watch a performance in The Screen Dreams movie theatre while we were there. Although we didn't stay for the whole thing, we did get our popcorn and drinks in the lobby and watch part of the show.

A peek at the show.

We stopped in The Ice Cream Palace for ice cream (yes, we DID just eat popcorn!). They have loads of yummy ice cream and lots and lots of toppings! Yum, yum!

Hasbro produced a special edition GKTW Village Candy Land game and inside of the Ice Cream Palace, you can find a giant replica of the game board on the wall. You can also order one for yourself in the GKTW website store. Click here.

We visited the beautiful Chapel at GKTW. It's such a comforting place.

Inside the The Castle of Miracles, the ceiling is covered with gold stars. Each child that has visited GKTW is represented there. The larger yellow star is a "marker" to help families locate their child's star.

The children put their "star" in this box. The "Star Fairy" picks up the stars from here and places the star on the ceiling.

GKTW was all decked out for Christmas. Note you can see the stars on the ceiling.
