Give Kids The World Project
- Scrapbooks For The Villas!
Memories are important to all of us, but they are especially important to those families who visit Give Kids the World. We at The Mouse For Less want to help those families "display" their memories by providing 1 10-page scrapbook album for each villa in the village! There are 100 villas, so that is 100 albums and 1000 scrapbook pages!
We've set a goal for ourselves and in order to reach this goal, we need YOUR help. If you're the crafty type, we're asking you to make a scrapbook page (or pages) to contribute to this wonderful cause. Not so crafty? We're asking you to send in your contribution to help pay for the printing of digital scrapbook pages and to help purchase scrapbook albums.
There are no "rules" for the pages you submit. They can be fancy or plain, they just need to be "ready" for the families to add their own photos to. Families visit not only WDW, but Sea World, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, so feel free to theme some pages towards those attractions too. The mini-golf course at GKTW has dinosaur roaming free, so a page or two with with friendly looking dinosaurs would be perfect! Christmas is celebrated at the village once a week, so Christmas pages would also be welcome! The village has an ice cream palace, a movie theater, a pool, a train ride and many other areas where I'm sure the families take photos. Looks like everyone wants to get in on THIS project! Even the kids! MFL member Amanda's son Kevin is having a great time making pages for this project!
Kevin set a goal for himself of making 150 pages by the end of the week! GO KEVIN!! In honor of him setting such a high goal, Amanda got busy and convinced a friend to cut her a deal on some albums! Their family will be sending 15 albums with enough pages for each album to have 10 pages inside. Amanda didn't stop there. She got another 4 of her friends to donate supplies to further this project. Someone in her homeschool group has offered to to put together a complete album as well.
Here Kevin shows the product of his efforts, so far. Each stack of pages around him has 10 pages in it, and he is holding his favorite out of one of the stacks. Kevin wanted us to remind everyone it isn't that hard, and that
scrapbooking rules! :)
We find this so often when doing projects for Give Kids the World. One person starts and others just can't help but join in. The sharing just grows and grows!
