The Point Orlando Resort — A Stylish hotel on Universal Boulevard

Tech-savvy guests will love The Point Orlando Resort near Universal Orlando. The hotel has everything you need, flat-screen televisions with cable programming, Wi-Fi connectivity, and charging stations like I have never seen anywhere else.

When it comes to the rooms, The Point Orlando Resort doesn’t disappoint. Furnishing is stylish; beds come with gel-infused Sealy mattresses, kitchenettes have a wet bar, mini-fridge, coffeemakers and refrigerators, and the bathrooms are spacious. The hotel also offers suites with two bedrooms and full kitchens. I love the fact that many rooms have a small balcony. I recommend you ask for a room that has a view on the Orlando Eye, it is so beautiful at night.

Located in the lobby, The barista serves a daily hot American buffet breakfast (for a fee) featuring scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit and Starbucks coffee. The lobby is sleek and has a separate space for guests to charge their mobile devices.

The Evo Lounge & Tapas Bar serves a variety of hors d’oeuvres and craft beers as of 4:00 p.m. through 10:00 p.m. Poolside, at Cabana Bar & Grill, guests can enjoy American fare from 11:00 a.m. till 11:00 p.m.

The pool area is nicely appointed, comes with a hot tube, and towel service. A recently remodeled fitness center is available for the health-conscious guest.

The hotel offers free shuttle service to Epcot (guests have to switch to Disney transportation for all other Disney parks and Disney Springs), SeaWorld, and Universal Orlando. You have to book your free shuttle at the front desk. The schedule makes a late stay at any park, Disney Springs, or CityWalk impossible. If you want to enjoy the parks late at night or want to have flexibility I suggest you rent a car when staying at The Point hotel. If you wish to use the shuttle check out the schedule here.

Overall I really liked my stay at The Point Orlando Resort. If Universal Orlando is your main focus the hotel is perfect, and the price is right too. I stayed for just under $100 a night. It was super clean, the staff was friendly and efficient, and yes, I used their transportation to the parks. It’s all for the sake of research!

Good to know: The hotel charges a service fee of $11.50, plus taxes per day.
