For those of you who have dreamed of the perfect Disneyland wedding, but sadly lack the 6+ figure budget required for a wedding in the park, you can still “make your dreams come true” with a little creativity and imagination! As Walt Disney once said, “If you can dream it you can do it.” Although he most definitely was not talking about a wedding, it is still go advice none the less. My sister did it last November for her wedding and it was beautiful. Here are some of the things she did:
First let’s start with the invitations, inside each invitation was a ticket book, much like the ones used in the park prior to the current all-day ticket or park-hopper. Each ticket had information about a particular portion of the wedding (i.e. announcement of wedding, ceremony and reception location, and even gift registry info).
Also pictured was their cake topper placed on this custom cake they had made by a local cake company. My sister worked with the baker on the design and it turned out amazing!
Speaking of cake, recognize what the cake is being served in? It is actually the little trays that the kid’s meals are served in, in the Parks. My sister asked a cast member at City Hall in Disneyland and they sold her a whole box of them! (When in doubt ask a cast member!)
As each guest entered the reception venue they found their “fastpass” that directed them to their table. Along with each “fastpass” was a cute little party favor: a couple of pixie sticks with a favorite quote, “All you need is a little faith, hope, love and trust and a little bit of Pixie Dust.”
The centerpiece vases even had a touch of the “mouse”.
Autograph books served as guests books and photos were taken of each guests (in “ear hats” of course) to be added to the books with each signature.
Little Disney touches were hidden everywhere, even in the bride’s hair and on the bottom of her shoes!
It truly was a Magical day!
