What to Do?! What to Do?!

I have reached that point in my vacation planning that I just want to scream and pull my hair out!  Let’s see.  I originally booked this trip a year ago with my The Magic for Less travel agent.  I rebooked it during my vacation last year as a bounce back and had my travel agent cancel my first booked trip.  I made the customary resort changes and then some…right Tina?

Plane tickets reserved? Check!  Oh, yes!  I have now paid off the trip in full and got the forwarded “PIF” confirmation.  What a wonderful sight!  What did my wonderful and amazing travel agent say to do?  She said, “Just sit back, relax, and count those days until it is time for you to leave.”

Sit back and relax???  Doesn’t she know that I am a Type A+++++ personality?  I know that she does.  So now, the real check list begins!

Matching T-shirts?  Well, I’m in a pickle on this one.  We may be moving, and if we do, my husband won’t be going with us.  I had better wait to make those shirts.  I don’t think he would want to match me if I have princesses on my shirt.  I do have several designs just waiting to be printed based on who is going.

Autograph books for the kids?  Check.  We made these quite awhile ago while making some autograph books for Give Kids the World Village.  We even found small, plain, white bags at our local Michaels during Vacation Bible School time that were only $1.00 a piece.  With some fabric markers, these bags are decorated Disney style and are the perfect size for an autograph book and a pen.  Yeah!  I don’t have to juggle the autograph books with the camera this year!  It’s never good when the camera loses the juggling act.

Activity books?  Finally done!  Yes, I am one of those anal moms that wants to make sure that her kids do not disturb the other people on the plane.  If we don’t move, we have a four hour, nonstop, plane ride to Orlando.  If we do move, we could have anything from a three hour trip to a thirteen hour trip, depending on where we move.

So now, I have to look towards gathering the things that the kids need to keep them occupied the entire trip.  There are the activity books and crayons, some learning type work like math word problems Disney style, iPods with nothing other than Disney movies and music, and snacks.  I sure hope that my husband gets a job closer to Disney, rather than further away.  I’m not sure how I would handle the thirteen hour trip.  That sure would be lots of snacks!

Let’s not even start to think about the real luggage that has to be packed.  Our trip is scheduled for eleven nights.  How am I supposed to get all of that into two suitcases?  I know that I can take two suitcases per person, but I am not sure that I want to even think about amount of luggage if I am taking the kids alone.  I wonder if I could get everything into two suitcases and do laundry twice?  I’m sure that will work because by the time November comes (49 days from today), I am sure that I will want two down days at the Wilderness Lodge to swim and not even think about all the planning that went into making the trip so wonderful!

Yes, “Just sit back, relax, and count those days until it is time for you to leave.”  Tina, I am certainly going to try!
