Reviews of Villas at Wilderness Lodge Themed as a resort from the North Woods (think Yellowstone National Park), the Wilderness Lodge is both cozy and breathtaking. Immediately upon entering, you will be struck by the grandeur of the lobby, including a working fireplace, totems and teepee chandeliers. The fireplace is a replica of the rock strata of the Grand Canyon.

I had the great excitement of going to Disney for my birthday this year and John decided we needed some variety. We booked three different resorts with studios so that we could enjoy the ambiance of each one. We stayed in the Wilderness Villas for 4 days February 10 to the 14th.
We liked being able to take the boat to Magic Kingdom and getting off in front of the main gate to go to the bag check.
I love the elevators and the total decor of this resort.
I look forward to staying there again in the next year.

Don’t Miss: The lobby at the villas has some wonderful sitting areas with fireplaces. I actually made a point to spend some time here with a good book. Also take some time to walk around the resort at night. It is so pretty, and the waterfall is lit up ;) There is a path that goes from the Wilderness Lodge to Ft. Wilderness. It is such a nice walk and really nice to see a less busy side of Disney World.

Room Location Suggestion: The Villas at Wilderness Lodge are small so even the furthest room is not going to be too far. We have never stayed in a bad room.

The Mouse For Less Tip: Because all rooms have a kitchen or kitchenette you could save some money by having breakfast in your room. Your refrigerator is also a great place to store water bottles and other snacks. Also, make reservations early as rooms at the Wilderness Lodge Villa can go fast.

Comments: The Wilderness Lodge Villas are actually connected to the Wilderness Lodge by a covered walkway. You get the extra space of a villa connected to the amenities of a full service resort. It also is just a beautiful setting, and one my of favorite Disney resorts.

Date Of Stay: May 19th to May 26th, 2007

Rate Paid During Your Stay: I used vacation club points.

Don’t Miss: Taking a picture of the fireplace and finding a Hidden Hidden Mickey in the photo.

Room Location Suggestion: Our room was in the front but the view was still nice and it was quiet.

Comments: The hotel was one of the quietest I’ve been in we didn’t even hear the kids on our floor.

Rate Paid During Your Stay: DVC Points

    Room Sleeps: 8

Don’t Miss: Soaking in hot tub at DVC section, eating at Whispering Canyon and asking for Ketchup, Portabella Mushroom soup at Artists Point.

Room Location Suggestion: Ask for room overlooking the water near the elevator

The Mouse For Less Tip: Refillable mug. Also the snack bar is being completely redone. Instead of getting a drink in the lounge, grab a beer from the fridge in the mercantile. Ask at the front desk for HThis is a magical resort, and if you stay here, take the time to enjoy the ambiance by sitting in one of the rockers in the lobby and watch the families go by.
