Reviews of Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa Saratoga Springs is an all villa resort. Although it is part of the Disney Vacation Club, the rooms are available to non-members as well. The resort is themed as an upstate New York village in the 1800’s, and includes the newest vacation homes, the Treehouse Villas, that allow up to 9 Guests to sleep high up amongst the lush forest leaves. In addition to the many other amenities, this resort features a full spa. And after all of that relaxing, Downtown Disney is right across the lake.

    Saratoga Springs Resort:
    2 Bedroom Villa
    Stayed: May 20 – 26, 2011
We had a two bedroom villa that we shared with two boys that were sons of the person who invited us. We have stayed in the 2 bedrooms here before and love it.
The room has a jacuzzi tub, full kitchen, living room, two full bathrooms, a sofa bed, two queen size beds in the second bedroom, and a king bed. There is a television in each bedroom as well as a television and dvd player in the living room. We stayed in Grand Stand which has its own main pool with a food service area and bar. We were directly across from the pool so that was convenient for my hubby.
The bus stop was a little bit of a walk as was the main building but the when a worker came by on a cart they would give us a lift to wherever we were going. Our bell man was actually our original bell man from our first stay in 2004 so it is nice to see Disney keeps their people. He took us and our luggage directly to our room after we checked in.
I am a DVC member and this is my home resort, my granddaughter who is coming with us requests we stay here all the time.
I prefer to stay in Boardwalk as I am a big fan of Epcot but when I can’t get it I like to stay here as I am close to DTD (which is my other favorite area).

    Saratoga Springs TreeHouse Villas

Date Of Stay: Nov 29 to Dec 5, 2009

Rate Paid During Your Stay: Used vacation points.

    Room Sleeps : 9

Don’t Miss: It is hard to say what one thing as there is not much to do at the THV area. My son in law took the kids to the pool, which he said was nice. My granddaughter loved the bunkbeds, now she wants them at home. The outside deck is wonderfull.

Room Location Suggestion: We had villa 7013. Nice location as it was a short walk to the bus stop and you could see if you just missed one.

The Mouse For Less Tip: If you have a larger group, this is a great place to stay. The master bedroom had the greatest bathroom, but the other one was not bad either.

Comments: They have a BBQ grill outside, so if you shop, be sure to buy charcoal to take advantage of this. I would stay here again, but only when we drive or rent a car.

    Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa

    Date Of Stay: April, 2008

Rate Paid During Your Stay: $230/night including tax. Anna S. was kind enough to tell me about a discount code for the general public.

    Room Sleeps : 4 (Studio)

Don’t Miss: Kids loved the main pool.

Room Location Suggestion: We stayed in the Grandstand section. Very short walk to bus stop and I believe it was the first stop on their route so we always got a seat.

Comments: Our least favorite thing about this resort were the food choices. It needed more choices for the kids IMO. The kids loved both of the pools they played in. It is a big resort but we had our own vehicle so no problems there.

    Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa

    Date Of Stay: December 2007

Rate Paid During Your Stay: We didn’t have DVC points. I’m not sure of the rate we paid.

Room Sleeps : 4 (A King Sized Bed and a pull out sofa.)

Don’t Miss: Walking around the entire resort. I didn’t do this until after I had checked out and I wish we’d had time to use some of the facilities and enjoy the beautiful resort!

Room Location Suggestion: We were in The Springs, upstairs on an end and had virtually no noise at all. It was close to the parking area and the bus stop.

The Mouse For Less Tip: Bring breakfast and snack foods. With the kitchen, you could whip up some quick morning food with no problem. You can pack less too since there is a washer & dryer.

Comments: The only drawback I found with this resort was it’s location. It’s really far from most everything. We had a car so we didn’t have to use Disney Transportation and even with that, we spent a lot of time, DRIVING to where we needed to go.

    Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa

    Date Of Stay: November 10-16,2007

Rate Paid During Your Stay: It cost us our points in DVC.

Room Sleeps : 8 but since we had little ones when the last person in our group showed up there was room for her too.

Don’t Miss: Walking through the hallway of the main building towards the Turf Club and looking at the Jockey Jerseys (especially the one with the Mickey heads).

Room Location Suggestion: We were in Springs room 3435 which was on the fourth floor. We were a few steps from the bus stop and across the street from the main building.

The Mouse For Less Tip: We spent some of our snacks from the DDP to pay for breakfast cakes and butter and milk. We were ready for anything the little ones dished out.

Comments: We stay in SSR every trip after trying a different resort first. We switched so our large group would be together for the trip. We had a two bedroom villa which is really a nice thing to have. Since we have a washer and dryer we pack less clothes than normal. Anyone looking for a spacious way to stay with a large group should look into this it is really worthwhile.

    Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa

    Date Of Stay: October 28, 2007 – November 2, 2007

Rate Paid During Your Stay: Used DVC points.

Room Sleeps : It was a 2BR villa that sleeps 8 plus one child under age 3 in a crib.

Don’t Miss: The main pool, adorable kiddie area.

Room Location Suggestion: One of the middle two Paddock buildings. They are close to a bus stop, the playground, and the quiet pool.

The Mouse For Less Tip: The well-stocked kitchen in 1-, 2-, and 3- bedroom villas is a real money-saver when it comes to keeping everyone fed.

Comments: We really enjoy the villas at SSR. They are clean, and you can park near your room, unlike other DVC resorts. Although our villa faced the playground and bus stop, noise was not a problem. Because this resort is so large, I would recommend spending time determining what amenities are important to you so that you can make the room request to suit your needs. Do you want to be near the main pool or a quiet pool? Do you have small children who would like the playground? Love DTD? Request to be near the walkover.

    Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa

    Date Of Stay: 12/7/06 – 12/11/06

Rate Paid During Your Stay: $229/night AP rate (non-member-AP rate applied)

Room Sleeps : Deluxe studio, sleeps 3 comfortably, 4 is pushing it.

Don’t Miss: Honestly can not think of one thing, although we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Room Location Suggestion: *sore point*, we requested The Springs and upon arrival were given The Paddock (still fine), with no explanation of location by the cast member. (so strange since we have always had great service at so many other resorts in WDW).

The Mouse For Less Tip: If you have a car, the 24hour Goodings supermarket is a very short trip.

Comments: Resort walkways could use better signs, there are maps, but they do not include a “you are here” location, so in a resort this large you could easily get confused the first time out, we managed to master the walkway to and from DTD Marketplace and Westside after the first day.

    Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa

    Date Of Stay: October, 2006

This is a beautiful resort, we stayed there for three nights this past October. We too, were located in The Paddock. My advice for anyone wanting to stay here is to request The Springs section, which is a stones throw away from the amenities, which are just wonderful.

There is an internal resort shuttle, which I highly recommend if you are staying in the other sections, and have to travel with others. Yes, the signs are difficult to comprehend and Bell Services is a little lax.

When we used the Magical Express last October, we landed at 1:00 p.m., got to our resort at 2:15 p.m., saw our luggage on the racks at Bell Services, but, did not receive our luggage in our suite until 6:30 p.m. After many phone calls.

I would only stay there if I were guaranteed The Springs section. And, we are really glad that we didn’t buy into DVC with this as our home resort. We were prepared to buy into it, but at the time we were interested, only the Saratoga was available. We’re going to hold off a while yet.
