Probably my least favourite meal I have had out of all the disney restaurants I’ve been to.

Okay for Children: “No” Although you sit overlooking a ride, which includes a temple and volcano, it was too dark to see anything and the kid’s menu was very limited. Basically just a quesadilla.

Okay for Couples: “Yes” The dark was very romantic.

Be sure to try: Sorry, what we had was not very good so I cannot recommend anything at this time

General tips: Bring a flashlight or a lighter so that you can read the menu. It is very dark and the candles on the table are not enough to read the menu.

MouseForLess Tip: If you want this type of food save some money and eat at the San Angel Cantina instead. The portions were small and the menu was not correct. I had a dish that was supposed to come with corn tortillas, but I did not get any when the meal came out.

Extra Comments: It was very dark and the limited menu makes it very hard to find something that was enjoyable.

Be sure to try: My daughter ordered the steak with the plantains and black beans, and it was out of this world! Our server called it “the best of the house”, and it was! I would go back to have a whole serving of that to myself!

General tips: We have eaten here before and were unimpressed with the food, the service, and the table arrangement – crowded. The last time we were here we were seated along the side where there is continuous bench seating on one side of the tables and chairs on the other side, and it was miserable. It was like sitting WITH the families on each side of you – no privacy at all. This time the hostess said, “For your birthday, would you like” and I interrupted her (because by now I knew to expect a free dessert, and didn’t really want one) and said, “For my birthday I would like a really good table!” We were seated at a table in almost the center of the dining room, and it was so much better! Next time I would refuse if we were offered the communal dining option and wait for a real table and chairs.

MouseForLess Tip: I don’t have a DDE card yet, but it is accepted here.

Extra Comments: I have always loved this restaurant; the setting is so beautiful! I’m glad I can brag on the food again.

Okay for Children: Yes – although our server was quite slow, so we waited a long time for everything – including the starter chips and salsa. Both girls were hungry, so fidgety, but the baby started to fall asleep, and I had to wake her when her meal arrived.

Okay for Couples: Definitely – I think the atmosphere, although a little loud today, is absolutely the most romantic at EPCOT

Be sure to try: Jim thought his meal was fabulous – it had so many flavors! There was sweetness from the fruit, the heat of the peppers, and there was even a few crunchy pomagranate seeds.

General tips: We went right at lunch time and were seated right away, although they had no tables directly overlooking the water. You could request a table there for an even more romantic meal.

Dollarless tips: The portions here are quite large, and you get chips and salsa with your meal – which we all tend to chow down on. Brighid and I could have easily shared our meal – she barely ate half of her platter after noshing on the chips. And Grandmom and Pop would have done better to share their’s as well – although they seemed to eat the same things and leave the same things.

Extra Comments: The restaurant was virtually half empty, but our service was extremely slow. We were seated immediately, then waited nearly 10 minutes before our drink orders were taken. This meal ate away an hour and a half of our day at EPCOT, and if you only plan on spending one day here, that’s a lot of time for lunch.
