I ate at the Plaza Restaurant July 2010.My wife had the turkey sandwich,my daughter had the cheese steak sandwich,my son had the angus cheeseburger, and I had the grilled reuben. We all agree that it was the best meal that we had at Disney. Not to mention the service was fantastic.Every time we needed something the waitress was right their. The atmosphere was laid back and relaxing, just when we needed a break from our super busy day.The price was no issue, because we had the dining plan which I highly recommend. Our meals were already paid in full before we even arrived at Disney.Having picky eaters in our family made it hard to find a restaraunt that has things everyone will eat.Even with a small menu The Plaza had something even the picky eaters in my family would eat.

We were able snag a walk-up reservation here for a late lunch on 9/17/10. We’d just arrived at WDW that afternoon and my boys had an appointment for haircuts (one of them a 1st haircut) at the Harmony Barbershop which is nearby. The CM’s manning the check-in assured us we could be in and out in under an hour and they were right. We found the portions to be nice sized, but not overly large. The dining area is small and bustling, and we felt very comfortable dining here with our sons, who were nearly 2 years old and 3.5 years old at the time. Everything was tasty and prepared as-ordered, and our server was efficient but very pleasant. The menu is a bit limited, but we would definitely return.

Definitely one of our favorites during our Disney trips! It is an especially nice break in the middle of a busy day at the Magic Kingdom during the “dog days” of August! While inside, it is such a quaint and cozy atmosphere, you forget about all the hustle and bustle going on outside. It has th atmosphere of a Victorian Bed & Breakfast yet you suddenly look outside and see this amazing view of Cinderella’s Castle. Although the menu is simple, the portions of the sandwiches/salads, etc. are very generous and the food is always super fresh and prepared just right. My personal favorite is the Strawberry Chicken Salad. It leaves you feeling very content without feeling uncomfortably full, which means you’ll have room for dessert! :o) We enjoy splitting the brownie sundae (O.K….we actually just dig into my husband’s dessert, uninvited!) My younger daughter loves the cookies and milk dessert off of the kid’s menu. The cookies are home-made but they serve it on a very dainty dish with the milk in a tiny teacup so she feels like she is at a fancy tea party. I would definitely recommend priority seating to avoid disappointment.

We ate here for the second time in September 2011 having first tried it on our previous trip in December 2009. We liked it so much the first time that it was one of our “must dos” for the last trip. In fact, it is only one of three restaurants which we repeated (the other two being “character” meals).

Okay for Children: Yes, although my son is 16 he has a learning disability and the cast members were fantastic with him

Okay for Couples: Yes! I would have loved to have eaten there with just my husband, it’s so old fashioned.

Be Sure to Try: Becky loved the Club Sandwich and the rest of us had the Cheeseburger – both meals were huge and filled us up so much that we couldn’t manage pudding!

General tips: Although it is quiet and you can walk up and get a table within 30 minutes in quiet times of the year, I would recommend getting a reservation as we booked in, got our buzzer to let us know when the table would be ready and then had to return to the door before we’d even sat down to wait!

Extra Comments: The cast members were all really friendly and our server was fantastic. We even had a chat with the Chef even though we don’t have any special dietary requirements as he asked us if everything was OK as he came passed and sat down for a chat!

This is rapidly becoming a new favorite for me. We first tried this restaurant on our Mother’s Day trip in 2010. While we were pleased with the food and service, construction walls around the restaurant blocked all the windows. We were eager to try it again on our trip this past Labor Day week for the full effect.

Our server seemed a bit flustered this time but was adequate. The food was just as delicious as I remembered it. I ordered the vegetarian sandwich, and I really loved the focaccia bread it was on. My boys (5 and 3) split the kids grilled cheese sandwich. My husband tried it and said it was an excellent sandwich, even for adults. I was pleased with how they handled this split meal. Each boy had his own plate set up with half and sandwich and fries. They also each got their own dessert. We were not charged for the extra dessert and drink, although I was certainly prepared to pay for it. I actually found the prices across the menu to be very reasonable compared to other Disney restaurants.

I really like the atmosphere in this restaurant. It is smaller, so it has a more intimate feel. You have a view of the castle, which we really enjoyed having this time around. I think the only real drawback here is that the restrooms are just outside the restaurant.

All in all, we were quite happy with our meal (and the cost after using our Tables in Wonderland card). I already have it booked for our trip this December.

Food: Would be five except for brownie wasn’t that great– Ghiradelli has a better brownie sundae.

Okay for Children: Yes. This is a small restaurant (capacity if 94 people). One crying child will be heard throughout the entire place.

Be Sure to Try: I love their German Potato Salad. Don’t know how they make it, but its wonderful. The burgers were awesome. Suzanne had hers just with cheese, but mine included mushrooms and onions and cheese. This is probably the best burger I have had at Disney and it was not greasy.

General tips: This is a very small restaurant and it often sells out well in advance. Do NOT use the dining plan here–there is nothing on the menu to make it a good value. THis is a nice place to get out of the parks for a short rest.

TheMouseForLess tips: portions are generous but not huge.

Extra Comments: make an ADR, or walk up first thing in the morning if you think you want a table. It will sell out.

    Atmosphere: there were flies everywhere!

Okay for Children: Yes. But make sure you know there is going to be a wait. We asked to have DD lunch brought right away while ours was cooking, but it didn’t happen.

Be Sure to Try: The burgers were good-not terrific.

TheMouseForLess tips: I can’t say enough about the Dining Plan. We are a family that prefers sitting to eat, rather then eating on the run.

Extra Comments: This was just about our only spontaneous meal. We were surprised that the place was not packed.

Be Sure to Try: The burgers!! You can get them any way you want with whatever you want on them!! The ice cream!!

General tips: This place is usually not too busy. Don’t think many people know it’s there. So you can walk in w/o a problem.

TheMouseForLess tips: The burgers are huge so your kids can split them!! The prices are good for a full service.

Extra Comments: While it doesn’t have a fancy menu the food is very good. It’s smallish inside but the tables aren’t squished together. The burgers are great. Better than counter service. The fries and onion rings were crispy. The service was very good and very friendly. The ice cream was great too!!

Okay for Children: Yes (staff was quite good with a “picky” eater seated near us)

Okay for Couples: Yes! (Just like an old-fashioned first-date place. We loved the Victorian feel of the main dining area and the glass conservatory).

Be Sure to Try: Turkey Sandwich a great fast food alternative– served on delicious multigrain bread; Brownie Sundae (but not if you order a meal as I laughingly learned!). It’s HUGE with three brownies, lots of hot fudge and vanilla ice cream.

General tips: While this place is a bit hidden (right around from the Ice Cream Parlor), you may want to make PS around lunch time. We did and only had a 5 minute wait at noon, while walk-in’s had a 30 minute wait.

Dollarless tips: We went again and learned to share a sandwich and sundae, as portions are very large. Grand total second time was only $16.

Extra Comments: We found this to be a great place to get out of the September heat and cool down midday. Plus, it was great to people-watch from the conservatory windows :-) If you don’t want lunch, it’s fun to stop in just for a sundae.
