Reviews of Grand Floridian Resort and Spa This is it. You’ve arrived. The Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is Disney’s flagship hotel, and it shows. It’s elegant, it’s refined- and it’s also fun! Outside, the resort is all turrets and gabled roofs. Inside, its Grand Lobby is five levels high, with sunlit domes built into the ceiling- wow! An open-cage elevator takes you in style to shopping and dining venues. The on-site full service spa pampers guests with a wide range of services. The Grand Floridian Orchestra entertains in the Grand Lobby, or maybe there’s a pianist, in the tux, playing the grand piano. This may sound stuffy, but in fact, the musicians, as well as all the cast members at the Grand Floridian, make this resort a perfect place for kids (of all ages) to have a luxurious and memorable vacation.

We had the opportunity to stay at the Floridian during a promo where Disney offered 40% off room rates. We usually stay at a deluxe when possible but the Floridian always seemed out of our reach. I was thrilled with this offer because the resort is truly magnificent.

There were three of us in the room and they were so large and roomy that we never felt crowded! The room actually sleeps 5 and I could see having that many in there with no problem. We had a ground floor room with a pool view (The Boca Chica bldg).

The concierge at the Floridian were by far, the best. We had wanted to get a dinner reservation at Le Cellier (we had lunch ones) and they concierge made calls for us and got us in for dinner!

The live music playing in the lobby and bar area add a nice touch as you are walking around the main building; the shops and boutiques are the best. We were celebrating my birthday on this trip and when I got back to the room there was a platter with a 12 inch tall solid white chocolate Mickey Mouse surrounded by gourmet cookies and chocolate covered strawberries waiting for me.

The service at the Floridian cannot be beat!

We thought it was well worth the price but I would not say this is in any way a value vacation.

Don’t Miss: Beach and pool by beach with waterfall. Water pageant at night.

Room Location Suggestion: We were in 8431 in Boca Chica , Lagoon View and had a partial castle and kingdom view.

The Mouse For less Tip: They do have the refillable mugs.

Comments: When we checked in they knew it was our anniversary, thanks to Deb at MFLtravel, they not only upgraded us to a lagoon view in a Dormer room with a cathedral ceiling but they also sent champagne, wine glasses and a signed Minnie and Mickey photo wishing us a happy anniversary! It was awesome and very unexpected. They treat you like a king and queen while staying with them. For us, the price was well worth it. And we will never stay off the monorail again.

Don’t Miss: Enjoying the piano music or band in the beautiful lobby.

Room Location Suggestion: We were in Big Pine Key which was a short walk to the main building.

The Mouse For less Tip: Use TMFL travel agency to help you find a great package or code.

Comments: This hotel is very elegant and classy. It is Victorian themed from the fresh, fragrant flowers throughout the lobby to the lace curtains in the rooms. Although a beautiful hotel, it did not offer a lot to hold the younger children’s interest. We enjoyed the resort and found the proximity to MK via monorail very helpful with strollers. As much as we enjoyed the level of service at this hotel, our thinking though, is that there are better themed hotels on property. There are elegant hotels all over the world and many people may want a different feel while at Disney.
