    Who: Valcarce Family

Where: Chefs de France, Epcot Center

    When: June 11th, 2014

    Rate the following: 5
    Food: 5

Okay for Children: Yes – cute kid’s menu to color and crayons
    Okay for Couples: Absolutely!

Be Sure to Try: The salmon with bacon braised lentils was cooked perfectly and tasted exquisite.

General tips: This was my birthday dinner and I was thrilled. One weird thing – no one mentioned it was my birthday, even though it was noted on our reservation. Not even a candle in my cheesecake.

Food: – We did the special of the day that included a starter, an entree and a desert.

Service: – our wait staff was very attentive and engaged in my attempts to get my daughter to order in French

Atmosphere: – felt much like some of the restaurants I have dine at in France

Okay for Children: Yes, my teens who are not super adventurous were quite happy to try some new foods and really enjoyed the atmosphere and Remy visiting us

Okay for Couples: Yes this could be a very romantic place in the evening I think

Be Sure to Try: Check out the “menu” or special of the day

General tips: As we were not on a dining plan this trip we opted for a late lunch to get more bang for our buck, and it worked out, the restaurant was not busy and we had lots of time in the evening then for Illuminations with snack

Food: – Food was cold and tasteless

Atmosphere: – continually getting bumped by wait staff

Be Sure to Try: The desserts

General Tips: We have eaten here many times usually at off times and the food was very good. This time we ate at 1:30 and the service and food was just awful.

Okay for Children: Yes-depending on their age, if they like swiss cheese, they will like many of the dishes. You can opt for the chicken strips and hamburger.

Okay for Couples: Yes-very romantic for a couple. The servers sing for birthdays.

Be Sure to Try: The desserts

General Tips: Make a resevation in advance!! As soon as you know you will be in Epcot, get a reservation!! This place will not let you walk in-especially if it is busy.

TheMouseForLess Tips: Lunch prices are very reasonable and the portions are ample. You will not starve here. Do expect to leave a sizable tip.

Extra Comments: The service is very good here. Do not be intimidated by the French menu or servers and hostesses. The people are friendly. Remi does show up at peak times during lunch-we ate at 2pm and he was there.

Food: – Lobster Bisque was great along with the beef

Service: – all cast members were very friendly

Atmosphere: – well lit and open air room

Okay for Children: Yes – Typical kids meals available

Okay for Couples: Yes – great atmosphere. Seemed louder than the other table service places I visited.

Be Sure to Try: Desserts – all of them looked so good! Wine – Cant go wrong….good selection.

General tips: Arrived 1 hour early with no issued getting in.

Extra Comments: Not quite sure why but the cloth napkin left lint…bad lint on my shirt. Every time I used it I was covered.

Okay for Children: This is a crowded restaurant with tables close together. Can get loud.

Okay for Couples: Yes, its France!

Be Sure to Try: I love the french onion soup but its a huge crock just ooey and gooey with cheese. Tons of sodium though, and I suffer the next day with water retention. The desserts here are wonderful. Quiche was quite tasty and is consistent. (I had it in August).

General tips: Make an ADR for dinner, but you might be able to walk in for lunch at an off-time. I don’t make lunch ADRs here but always do so for dinner.

TheMouseForLess tips: If you order the soup you may be filled up prior to the entree. I now skip entrees and just order the soup, which is absolutely love. (Its better than Panera bread’s onion soup).

Extra Comments: Desserts here are beautiful. Get a couple to share. (My favorite is the Opera).

Be Sure to Try: Dark chocolate mousse this was my favorite dessert ever and cheese plate.

General tips: I know this restaurant does not get good reviews but we just loved it. We did not have to wait to get seated make an early seating at around 5pm. We sat by the window and could watch the people outside. Our waiter was one of the best we had all vacation.

TheMouseForLess tips: Make an ADR for dessert if you don’t want to have dinner. I shared my dinner with my son and it was just enough for the two of us with the appetizer and dessert.

Extra Comments: Of all the restaurants we ate at in Epcot Alfredo’s, Le Cellier and here this was our favorite. We loved all the food we had and it was my favorite dessert.
