Love this place. Best darned comfort food anywhere in the parks. Don’t want to wait for a table head for the bar–Tune In Lounge–and enjoy the food.

We love this restaurant so much! We always go there every time we visit disney world. I’ve only had the fried chicken because I just can’t bring myself to try something new cause it’s that amazing! Such a fun theme as well and the servers are always great :)

Excellent meal. My husband had the pot roast and said it was very good. I had salmon and it was also deicious. Our waitress “Mom” interacted with us a little and frequently checked to see if us “kids” needed anything. After our meal, she said you kids were so good, I didn’t have to keep after you to clean your plates, you can have dessert. More interaction with families with teenagers and one server picked up a spoon to feed someone sitting close to us. On the other side of us, there was a couple and a table with a large family who had a VERY involved server. Everyone there seemed to have a great time with our servers!

I was very hesitant to eat here for a while as I am not normally someone who enjoys being picked on for fun. We ended up here with friends one day and it was awesome! We had the best server and great food. It has become a must do and we have been back multiple times since.

Was all excited to eat at the 50?s Prime Time after reading all about it, and was very much disappointed. We thought there would a little fun with the waiters and waitresses as all the articles suggest, and we walked out of there wishing there was a McDonalds nearby. The waitress was not friendly at all, and the place was not overly crowded, so she wasn’t swamped or anything. She said the normal hi, can I take your order, and though we tried to engage her in small talk, commenting on the various knick knacks, et cetera, she really wasn’t interested. I had the meatloaf dinner which ended up being lukewarm. Mashed potatoes was the only thing that was hot on the whole plate. Green beans and meatloaf was lukewarm. Didn’t even get a chance to complain because after serving our food we didn’t see her again until she asked if we wanted dessert, and by then we just wanted to leave. Didn’t even get a refill on coffee. For three of us I spent with tip over $85 and that was my biggest waste of money on the whole vacation. There was one other occupied table near us that had mother and son and they did not receive any “extra” attention from our waitress, which is what the place seems to push, with the quirky family type atmosphere that they advertise. She and her son were just as disappointed as we were. I love Disney World and planned to add a little extra fun to our trip by going to the Prime Time, but in an otherwise “magical” visit to Disney it was the only bad experience we had. Next trip we will definitely skip the 50?s Prime Time Cafe.

We love Prime Time, it has become one of our must have ressies. Their fried chicken is wonderful and plenty of it. You will not leave hungry. The chicken noodle soup and brownie sundae is also very good. The service is always great. It is a fun restaurant!

We love their PB&J shakes. They’re not on the menu but you can ask and they’ll make one for you. We try to eat here every few months and haven’t found anything we don’t like. I love the fried chicken and husband loves the meatloaf. If you don’t want a waiter that might give you a hard time let them know that when you check in, otherwise beware–you might find yourself singing “I’m a Little Teapot”!

    What: Lunch

Price of Entrees: Dining Plan…..so not quite sure

Okay for Children: Yes. Wonderful for children
Okay for Couples: Yes, especially those who remember anything from the 50’s or even the 60’s

Be Sure to Try: Fried chicken

General tips: Great as part of the Fantasmic package

Extra Comments: We have eaten here for the past four years. I was dissappointed to find out that the Salmon no longer has the wonderful corn relish on top. I saw someone else who had ordered the “new” salmon. It looked very boring and bland. :(

    Who: Makin Family

    Where: 50’s Prime Time Cafe

    When: September 10, 2009

    What: Dinner

    Price of Entrees: Dining Plan

Be Sure to Try: DESSERT!!! It is fantastic.

General tips: Big portions of food.

TheMouseForLess Tip: Make sure you go in with the right attitude. This is one of those places that your experience is what you make of it. You sit close to everyone so get to know your neighbors and get into the swing of things with your server.

Extra Comments: Although the food wasn’t anything to brag about it was good and filling.

    What: Dinner
Fried Chicken two with greens, two with green beans, and one with corn and Pot Roast.

    Price of Entrees: Dining Plan

Be Sure to Try: Pot Roast. The chicken was good, but a little greasy defiantly gave you enough.

General tips: If you are on the dining plan you can get a milkshake for your drink and something else for dessert. They’ll bring you water. Or you can have the milkshake for dessert.

TheMouseForLess Tip: The Adult Chicken is huge and could easily shared.

Extra Comments: “Mom” Mary Ann was a hoot. She introduced us to all the other people around us. I got in trouble for tattling and my sister in law got a happy plate sticker.

    What: Dinner-
Me: Chicken noodle soup, Dad’s Meatloaf with mashed potatoes and greenbeans
DD: Green salad, fried chicken with macaroni and cheese and corn

Okay for Children: Yes- but mind your manners and no elbows on the table!
Okay for Couples: Yes- if you are a fun loving couple

Be Sure to Try: My DD’s fried chicken was wonderful!

General tips: We had 5:45 Ards, were seated by 6:00. In a room with only 4 other tables

TheMouseForLess Tip: Portions were huge, didn’t order dessert cause we were too full! Didn’t dare to not eat our veggies!!

Extra Comments: You should have a decent sense of humor to eat here. Our server, Ellen was VERY funny! Leave one tomato from your salad and ask her to tell you a story!

What: Lunch: 1) There were three of us for lunch. We were on the dining plan I had chicken noodle soup, which was delicious, a coke float fried chicken and mashed potatoes, brownie sundae. Broc had the chicken pot pie. It madehim sick two years in a row.chicken noodle soup, soda, and dessert. Beverly had pot roast dinner with mashed potatoes and beans I think. she had ice cream for dessert.

Be Sure to Try: pot roast and fried chicken were both great. pot roast is really tender

General tips: This restaurant has alot of action at times so if you had autistic children I wouldnt really recommend it.They can pick on you sometimes.

Extra Comments: I love this restaurant, not only for the decor, but also the ambiance and IF you get a friendly waitress. Otherwise its just ho hum if you don’t get one that interacts with you.

What: Lunch: 1) Beer-Battered Onion Rings;Chicken Pot Pie-flaky pastry atop creamy cheese mixture of chicken, mushrooms, broccoli, carrots, celery, onions and peas; Angel Food Cake – with fresh berries and whipped cream; ice tea.
    2) Chicken Noodle Soup; Mom’s Elbow Macaroni and Cheese; Build your own Sundae in a Chocolate lined Waffle Cup $2.99

Approximate Price of Entrees: 1) Beer-Battered Onion Rings$4.99;Chicken Pot Pie $13.79; Angel Food Cake $5.29; ice tea about $2.25 2) Chicken Noodle Soup $1.99; Mom’s Elbow Macaroni and Cheese $4.99; Build your own Sundae in a Chocolate lined Waffle Cup $2.99
Total meal ( about $45.18 total including tax and 18% tip if I would have been paying….. I used 1 Dining Plan Credits for of us)
Be Sure to Try: The onion rings were great! So was the chicken pot pie.

General tips: More economical for lunch but even that is pricey. We came in at 11am when they opened and by 11:30 the restaurant was pretty filled up already.

TheMouseForLess tips: The servings were probably big enough to share unless you are a large eater. I wanted to finish the delicious onion rings but needed to save room for the pot pie. It was too big for me to finish and that’s why I left veggies on the plate and got ‘scolded’…couldn’t finish them all and I love veggies. I hardly had room for the dessert, but since I was on the Dining Plan, I ordered it and ate a few bites. Daughter could only finish about 1/2 her food too.

Extra Comments: We enjoyed the interaction with the waitress. The food was good. I would like to try some of the other items on the menu, but will try the restaurant for dinner next time. The food is a bit on the ‘substantial’ side for rushing around afterwards in the park. Guess I think of the things they offer at lunch, meatloaf, potpie, pot roast, fried chicken, as more of a dinner thing but it tasted good. The setting is great. We sat at a lunchbar attached to a kitchen counter to watch TV since it was just two of us. Lots of the things in the restaurant looked like my mother’s home.

What: Was supposed to be lunch, but because we were beholden to the schedule for ESPN weekend, we had dessert for lunch

    Approximate Price of Entrees: 2 Build-A-Sundae ($2.99 each) 1 S’mores Sundae ($4.99) 1 Soda ($2.19) 2 Mowie-Wowie’s with glowing cubes ($9.50 each) Total after 20% DDE discount $27.41

Be Sure to Try: The S’Mores

General tips: We did have an ADR for 11 am, but they were taking walk-ins at that point as well. This usually isn’t the case later in the day.

TheMouseForLess tips: The entrees are HUGE. We have eaten meals here in the past and have always shared. You also don’t have to order off the adult menu, if you are an adult. My 16 year old got the Build-A- Sundae off the Kids menu.

Extra Comments: It was great getting a picture of my 16 year old with his nose against the wall for spitting spitballs at his brother.

    What: Lunch

Approximate Price of Entrees: Smoked seafood dip, ($6); Beer Battered Onion Rings, $5; 2 pot roast meals ($14 each); Chicken Caesar salad ($13); Kids’ Macaroni and Cheese ($5); Dad’s Super Sundae ($6)

Okay for Children: Absolutely – lot of interesting stuff to look at; televisions playing through the meal; and some of the waiters can be a lot of fun
Okay for Couples: As long as you are not looking for quiet and romantic – although I suppose you could spark a little romance here if you try ;-)

Be Sure to Try: We really enjoyed the pot roast meal – very homey; and the onion rings were amazing!

General tips: Definitely make an ADR for this meal if you are going when it was busy. We had an ADR and still waited about 20 minutes for a table, since the restaurant was so busy

TheMouseForLess tips: I think you could probably share meals here. We had skipped breakfast and had a wait for lunch, so we were really hungry. We normally would not have ordered the appetizers, but we did, ate them, and pretty much cleaned our plates. We all shared Dad’s Super Sundae, and left some of it behind.

Extra Comments: We have eaten here several times, but this was the first time for Grandmom. We had really hoped for more interaction with our server, but he had so many tables, he barely had time to give us his name. I think that joking around they do is a big part of the atmosphere here, so we were a little disappointed that he kind of left us alone.

Okay for Couples: Yes, not romantic but a blast from the past.

Be Sure to Try: Fried chicken was awesome, the smores dessert was huge and delicious, Boursin Cheese was really good too.

General tips: Big enough meal to split with my son and we couldn’t even finish dessert.

TheMouseForLess tips: Look around at everything. This brought back memories of my grandmothers house.

Extra Comments: The food was great and so was the service but we expected more interaction.

Oh yea…and if you are in a hurry to get your food and get out…you probably don’t want to eat here…I think our meal took about 2 hours. We had a ball but it may not work for everyone.
