When you get in trouble and you don’t know right from wrong
Give a little whistle! Give a little whistle! – Jiminy Cricket

Q. My family and I are headed to WDW this October. We are arriving on Saturday Oct. 29th and staying for 8 nights with a split stay at the Beach Club and the Boardwalk. Our group includes me, my husband, my mom, and our two year old daughter.

We’ve decided not to do Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party this year because of the extra cost, my daughter’s age, and the crowd levels on Halloween weekend.

Since we will be there on Halloween night itself, do you have any suggestions other than the party? Are there any other parks. attractions, or hotels that might fit the Halloween theme? I know nothing will compare to the party at MK, but any ideas would help! (Submitted by Alyssa G.)

A. Hi Alyssa!

I can understand not wanting to spend the extra money on Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party with a little one that young.

Unfortunately, the only way to experience Halloween events on Halloween at Walt Disney World is by partaking in a hard ticket option, either Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party or Club Villain at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Neither of which sound like that would fit your family’s plans.

One option would be to spend the morning/afternoon at the Magic Kingdom and see the park decorated in its fun glory. Plus you can ride on The Haunted Mansion. Another option is to head to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and ride Tower of Terror. (Since they did disappear on Halloween night.)

If you’re looking for a relatively free option, you can always head to Disney Springs. While they don’t offer trick or treating, they are offering some unique entertainment options and snacks for the holiday.

Finally, some of the resorts do hold special Halloween activities that can be experienced. Activities include crafts, dance parties, and character meet and greets. Here are the activities scheduled to take place at both the BoardWalk and the Beach Club.

I hope you have a great time!
