When you get in trouble and you don’t know right from wrong
Give a little whistle! Give a little whistle! – Jiminy Cricket

Q.  My family and I will be traveling to Disney World this November.  We plan on attending the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party one day, but that same day we wanted to go to Epcot just to purchase something we saw in Morocco, as well as my Mom loves the fish and chips there.   Do you know if you can go in for an hour to make your purchases without paying.  I know a long time ago I was able to go into Animal Kingdom and purchase some items and was told to be back within an hour I am not sure you can still do that? A.  Hi Aritha!

I too remember when Walt Disney World allowed for guests to enter the park for an hour to do some shopping and then exit the park and I was hopeful that the option would still be available, but I hadn’t heard about anyone being able to do it recently. So, I asked around and unfortunately, I have to tell you this is something that has been discontinued. If you want to enter a park, for any amount of time, you must have a valid park ticket. I would suggest that you maybe ask at Guest Relations if there is any kind of option that they can offer, because I have heard that they may be able to do something on a case-by-case basis.   It isn’t guaranteed that they will be able to do something for you though, so don’t count on it, just in case.

  1. I had a similar scenario happen to me last year. We had bought the Halloween Haunted Mansion popcorn bucket at HS and my son left it on the bus by accident that night. When we noticed it 2 days later (our day of departure of course), I went over in the morning and told Guest Relations that I did not have a park ticket since we were leaving that day, but was hoping a cast member could just escort me to a vendor so I could purchase another one. Guest Realtions just issued me a full day ticket that allowed me to run in, get the bucket and leave. So…yes…they still do it on a case-by-case basis.

    • Thanks for sharing your experience Brian! So glad to hear that it is still possible to do this on a case by case basis.
