When you get in trouble and you don’t know right from wrong
Give a little whistle! Give a little whistle! – Jiminy Cricket

Q. We’re in the middle of our planning for our every-two-years Christmas vacation at Disney World soon, and I was wondering what the schedule for December is yet?  What we want to know about specifically are the dates for special outside-the-parks events, such as the Pop Warner competitions and taping for the televised Christmas parades.  Can you help us?  Thanks, and love your column! A.  Hi Joyce!!

Ah!!!  It’s the most Magical time of the year!  Any time at Disney is magical, but there is just something about the Holiday season that truly ups the ante.

Of course, you’ll have the traditional and exceptional yearly events.  The first is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, which takes place at the Magic Kingdom on select nights from November 9th – December 21st.  Over at Epcot, you have the Candlelight Processional, where different celebrities tell the Christmas Story behind a backdrop of a gorgeous choir.  That takes place nightly starting November 23rd – December 30th.  At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you have the jaw-dropping Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights that takes place on the Streets of America, which is every night from November 9th – January 6th.

There are also the events that you were asking about.  Pop Warner Championship (a kids football tournament that is held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports, but brings in quite a few guests) will take place December 1st – 8th.  You also asked about the Christmas Parade taping.  This is something that hasn’t been announced yet, and it usually isn’t announced until a few weeks before the taping actually occurs.  If we go by history, the taping will take place on the weekend of November 30th – December 2nd.  (Keep in mind, this is just a guess.  It is not official from Disney.)

Also, keep in mind that Disney has announced that the New Fantasyland, along with Test Track’s reopening after it’s refurbishment will be taking place on December 6th.

No matter when you go in December, whether it’s the less busy beginning of the month, or the super packed end of the month, one thing is for sure, the magic of Disney and Christmas is certainly not to be missed!  Have a magical time!
