When you get in trouble and you don’t know right from wrong
Give a little whistle! Give a little whistle! – Jiminy Cricket

Q.  I would sure like to know when the “Be Our Guest” restaurant is going to be open. Has anyone heard anything yet?  (Submitted by Mark N.)

Hi Mark!

If you’ve been to the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World anytime within the past year you’ve seen firsthand the extent of the new Fantasyland’s scope.  This new area is going to be massive with the addition of Storybook Circus, The Seven Dwarves Mine Train, Under the Sea – Journey of The Little Mermaid, The Be Our Guest Restaurant plus much, much more.

The first phase has already opened with part of Storybook Circus opening this past March and let me tell you, it looks spectacular!  But with Storybook Circus partially open, everybody has been wondering when the other phases of this land are going to open.  This week we finally received more info on what the projected opening dates for the remaining phases are going to be.

The remainder of Storybook Circus, including the second Dueling Dumbo with the indoor queue and Casey Jr. Splash and Soak Station are set to open this July.

As far as Be Our Guest Restaurant (which you are interested in and I can’t blame you), Under The Sea – Journey of The Little Mermaid, Enchanted Tales With Belle, Ariel’s Grotto, and Gaston’s Tavern are concerned, these have a projected opening date of late 2012, just in time for the Holiday Season. Unfortunately, we don’t know which holiday they are referring to but hopefully that will become a little clearer soon!

Finally, Disney is expecting to open up The Seven Dwarves Mine Train, as well as putting the remaining finishing touches on this fabulous new expansion in late 2014.

Keep in mind that these schedules can change as things may come up; however, these are the dates that Disney is projecting as of right now.

It’s already been an exciting year so far with the new Fantasyland but it looks like the excitement is just getting started.  I am looking forward to watching the progress continue not only throughout the rest of this year but in the upcoming years too.

Remember, when you do finally get to dine at Be Our Guest Restaurant, make sure to try the gray stuff…I hear it’s delicious.  (Don’t believe me? Make sure to ask the dishes.)
