• Disney was busy releasing a bunch of small announcements yesterday. In addition to the new D Street store coming to the West Side in the Planet Hollywood store location, Auditorium 1 of the AMC Pleasure Island 24 theater is getting an enlarged theater screen with 3D technology, and a RIDEMAKERZ store will also be coming to Downtown Disney. RIDEMAKERZ is equivalent to a Build-A-Bear for boys, offering kids the opportunity to customize and “trick out” their very own RIDE. • I think I posted these dates before, but since Disney has made it official, Summer Nightastic! will run from June 6 to August 14. While Disney also mentioned in their blog yesterday that The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror would get new lighting effects and a new addition, Disney is again promising that there is much more planned for the Summer Nightastic! celebration. The dates also mark when the Main Street Electrical Parade will run in the Magic Kingdom, all though reports suggest that the parade may remain at Walt Disney World for up to two years.
• Disney Magic Music Days is celebrating its 25th Anniversary. This represents a legacy of millions of performers who have graced the stages and marched the parade routes of the Walt Disney World Resort. Hundreds of high school bands, choral groups and dance ensembles will preform at Walt Disney World during Disney Magic Music Days, a program that accepts performers to showcase their talent at Disney World. Look for them in the parks and at Downtown Disney.
• According Dream Makers blog, a new version of the Frontierland Hoedown Happening started at Magic Kingdom on Friday with new music, costumes and dances. The show will celebrate the spirit of the Wild West and include Brer Bear, Brer Rabbit and Brer Fox, and Country Bears Wendell, Big Al, Shaker and Liver Lips. The show is aimed at being spontaneous and fun, and show times are not published in the Times Guide. Click below for details.

• The Princess Half Marathon Weekend will bring women of all ages together March 5-7 to participate in an event designed just for them – with
the Disney Princesses as the inspiration. The weekend includes an expo at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and a half marathon, family 5K and kids’ races that start and finish at Epcot. Guides are available on Disney’s web site.

• The LA Times Hero Complex blog is reporting that there will be no D23 Expo this year. “The Disney plan, as of now, is to stage the D23 Expo as a biennial event, which means we’ll have to wait until 2011 to see the second edition. “ The rest of the article is about D23 First Anniversary at Disneyland. • As Disney prepares to unveil its new ‘Alice in Wonderland’ in full 3D glory, another eagerly awaited title waits in the wings. Moviegoers are in for a retro treat as the Mouse House prepares to unveil its first, fully 3D trailer of ‘Tron: Legacy.’ Word is that there will be at least one other movie trailer in full 3D at the showing of Alice in Wonderland.
